Remove the audio from a video, offline
Silence a clip before you post it, share it or edit it — on your own PC, at any length, with nothing uploaded and nothing added to the picture.
Why do it in VideoForge?
A fast, private desktop toolkit — not another website that uploads your files.
Nothing is uploaded
Muting is often the thing you do because the audio is private — a conversation in the background, a name being said. Uploading the file to strip it defeats the point.
Any length, no ceiling
Mute is not one of the tools the free version caps. A ten-second clip and a two-hour recording are treated exactly the same way.
The picture is untouched
Only the audio track is dropped. There is no watermark, no re-crop and no quality change forced on the video you keep.
How to remove the audio from a video
4 steps, entirely on your PC.
Install VideoForge free from mes-dev.com.
Drag in the video you want to silence.
Choose Mute, and pick an output folder or accept the default.
Run. The muted copy is saved and the original is left alone.
Frequently asked questions
Is muting limited on the free version?
No. Mute has no length limit and no file count limit, and there is no watermark on the output.
Does it overwrite my original video?
No. A new file is written to the output folder and the source file is left exactly as it was.
Can I keep the audio as a separate file instead?
Yes — use Extract audio, which is also free with no limit. It writes the sound out as MP3, WAV, AAC or FLAC while leaving the video untouched.
Will the video quality drop?
The picture is carried through rather than re-graded, so what you see in the muted copy is what was in the original.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no licence needed to mute a video.
